purchase this menu...from a collection of 1971 menus on the Italia's Alaska route. The dinner menus depicted portraits of Princesses on them. This is from July 17, 1971, and features a portrait of Princess Mathilde Bonaparte on the front.
Dinner did have some items we just don't see any more....Roast Capon on the Skewer, Veal Sweetbreads, Smoked Ox Tongue...
What can I say? Cruise ship menus can be an art form in itself. Back in the day, they had works of art on the front, and inside was printed the menu for that day, catching a moment in time. Now, ships have so many restaurants you can't try them all in once cruise, and the menus don't change. Celebrity's Eclipse even has a menu on an ipad! Here, I've shared some of my collection of ship menus - if you have any to share, please do!
